Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. has announced that it has successfully secured three inter-state transmission projects through tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB).

These projects are strategically designed to facilitate the efficient evacuation of power generated from renewable energy projects in the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.

The first project, 'Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Rajasthan (Jaisalmer/Barmer Complex)', encompasses the establishment of a new 765/400/220 kV pooling substation at Mandsaur, along with the deployment of a 765kV D/C Transmission Line and extension of associated bays at existing substations in Madhya Pradesh.

Similarly, the second project, focusing on the 'Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from potential renewable energy zone at Khavda in Gujarat', includes augmentation works at existing substations in the state to facilitate seamless power evacuation.

The third project involves the 'Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Rajasthan' and entails the establishment of a new 765 kV substation at Rishabhdeo, deployment of 765kV D/C transmission lines, and extension of associated bays at substations in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Power Grid Corporation emerged as the successful bidder under the tariff-based competitive bidding process, securing the mandate to establish these critical inter-state transmission systems on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.
