Power Grid Corporation Announces Investments Worth INR 655.75 Crore in Two Key Projects

The first project entails the implementation of Unified Load Dispatch and Communication (ULDC) Phase-III, specifically focusing on the SCADA/EMS Upgradation Project in the Northern Region SLDCs.

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. has revealed plans to invest a total of INR 655.75 crore in two significant projects, according to a recent regulatory filing. The decision was made during meetings of the company's Board of Directors and Committee of Directors on Investment on Projects.

The first project entails the implementation of Unified Load Dispatch and Communication (ULDC) Phase-III, specifically focusing on the SCADA/EMS Upgradation Project in the Northern Region State Load Dispatch Centers (SLDCs). This project is estimated to cost INR 514.66 crore and is slated for completion by November 15, 2025, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and grid management capabilities.

The second project involves the augmentation of a 765/400 kV, 1500 MVA transformer (4th) at Bhiwani. This augmentation is delinked from the Transmission System to evacuate power from renewable energy (RE) parks in Leh through the 5 GW Leh-Kaithal Transmission corridor. The estimated investment for this project stands at INR 141.09 crore, with a commissioning target set for May 5, 2025.

These strategic investments underscore Power Grid Corporation's commitment to strengthening and modernizing the country's power transmission infrastructure, facilitating the integration of renewable energy sources, and ensuring reliable electricity supply to various regions.
