PM Modi Lays Foundation Stone of SECI’s 300 MW(AC) Solar PV Project at Ramagiri, Andhra Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stone for Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) 300 MW (AC) solar PV project at Ramagiri, Andhra Pradesh, the corporation’s largest self-owned installation to date.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone of the 300 MW(AC) Solar PV Project of Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) at Ramagiri, Sri Sathya Sai District, Andhra Pradesh, virtually.

This project is SECI’s largest self-owned solar PV installation and marks a significant milestone in India’s renewable energy journey, said SECI in a statement.

The foundation stone laying was done as part of observance of the Seva Parv ceremony which was held on September 15, 2025 in Banswara, Rajasthan, in the presence of Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde, Governor, Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister, Rajasthan, Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution; and New and Renewable Energy, N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh.

The event was also attended by Dr Prem Chanda Bairwa, Deputy Chief Minister, Rajasthan, Diya Kumari, Deputy Chief Minister, Rajasthan, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, Energy Minister, Andhra Pradesh, B.K. Parthasarathi, MP, Hindupur and other senior officials of the Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh governments.

PM Modi remarked that, “Our effort is focused on Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, development for everyone with clean energy and better opportunities for every family.”

Spread over 1,047 acres in Ramagiri and Muthuvakuntla villages, the project has been developed under the CPSU Scheme Phase II, Tranche III. The power will be procured by Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company (MPPMCL) for which the necessary agreement has been executed.

The project will create direct and indirect job opportunities during both construction and operation phases, support local infrastructure development, and contribute to socio-economic growth in the region. It is expected to stand as a model of public sector-led renewable energy development that aligns national energy priorities with community benefits, SECI stated.
