Piaggio and SUN Mobility Partners for Interchangeable Battery Technology

Commercial vehicles manufacturer Piaggio Vehicles Private Ltd (PVPL) has announced it has arrived into a strategic partnership with SUN Mobility for interchangeable battery technology. As part of the tie-up, SUN Mobility, a provider of energy infrastructure and services for electric vehicles (EVs), will deliver Piaggio smart batteries and quick interchange stations.

Piaggio‘s upcoming EVs will use smart interchangeable batteries with lithium-ion technology. These batteries are projected to improve the overall efficiency of the vehicles with better pickup and increased mileage. Also, the network of quick interchange stations will enable the electric three-wheeler drivers to swap their batteries in less than two minutes helping address concerns around range limitations and long refueling time.
