PEDA Invites Bids for Solarisation of 200 Agricultural Connections under PM-KUSUM Component-C

A key component of the tender involves the mandatory replacement of existing grid-connected AC pumps with BEE Star Rated energy-efficient AC pumps.

The Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has floated a Request for Selection (RFS) inviting online e-bids for the solarisation of approximately 200 grid-connected agricultural consumers under Component-C1 of the PM-KUSUM scheme of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India.

The tender seeks bidders for the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and five-year comprehensive maintenance of distributed grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The project will cover three agricultural feeders: the 11 kV Kurali feeder under the PSPCL Sub-Division Banur, the 11 kV Peerkot feeder under the Sub-Division Sub Maur, and the 11 kV Sadhowal feeder under the Sub-Division Rangian.

A key component of the tender involves the mandatory replacement of existing grid-connected AC pumps with BEE Star Rated energy-efficient AC pumps. The scope also includes the integration and maintenance of Remote Monitoring System (RMS) data as per MNRE requirements.

The RFS document became available on the Punjab Government’s e-procurement portal on June 6, 2025. A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for June 17. The last date for bid submission is June 25, 2025. Technical bids will be opened the following day on June 26.

PEDA has already onboarded a set of farmers for the pilot project. However, a market-driven approach has also been incorporated, allowing the selected vendors to directly engage with farmers, facilitate registrations, and secure work orders for solarisation and pump replacement of such additional farmers onboarded. Following the successful implementation of 200 solarised grid-connected pumps in the pilot phase, the project is expected to expand across Punjab in a phased manner.
