Patel Engineering Wins INR 718 Crore Contract to Develop 240 MW Hydro Project in Arunachal Pradesh

Patel Engineering Ltd. has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) to bag an INR 718 crore contract from NEEPCO to develop the 240 MW HEO Hydro Electric Project in Arunachal Pradesh. The project is estimated to be completed in 44 months and will generate 1,000 million units of energy annually.

Mumbai-based infrastructure company Patel Engineering Ltd. has secured an INR 718 crore contract for developing the 240 MW HEO Hydro Electric Project located in Arunachal Pradesh from North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd. (NEEPCO).

Patel Engineering has been declared the lowest bidder (L1) for the hydroelectric project, the company shared in a regulatory filing.

Located in the Shi Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh, the project is expected to generate 1,000 million units (MU) of energy annually. The estimated period of completion is 44 months.

“The scope of works include construction of civil and associated infrastructure works, testing and commissioning of hydro-mechanical plant and machinery leading to successful operation and performance of all the generating units of the 240 MW HEO Hydro Electric Project,” it said.

Patel Engineering is a 76-year-old company established in the year 1949 and has a strong presence in hydropower, tunnelling and irrigation segments. “The company has completed over 85 dams, 40 hydroelectric projects and more than 300 km of tunnelling for clients which are mostly central PSUs or state government organisations,” it said.
