Pace Digitek Ltd. has secured INR 17,750 million order from Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) for the development of a 250 MW solar power project integrated with a 1.1 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka.

The company has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from KREDL, a Government of Karnataka undertaking, for the project, which will be developed at Ryapte village within the Pavagada Solar Park. With this order, Pace Digitek’s total consolidated order book has risen to INR 102,428 million. This includes INR 77,792 million from its Energy segment, comprising solar EPC, standalone BESS, solar-plus-storage and balance-of-system projects, and INR 24,637 million from its Telecom segment, which includes tower infrastructure EPC, operations and maintenance services, and telecom power equipment supply.

The project involves the installation of a 250 MWAC solar photovoltaic power plant integrated with a 250 MW / 1,100 MWh battery energy storage system. It has been awarded under a tariff-based competitive bidding process (Tranche I) and is aimed at supplying peak-hour power while improving grid utilisation in Karnataka. The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has adopted an interim tariff of INR 5.51 per unit for the project, along with Viability Gap Funding (VGF) support.

The solar-plus-storage project will be located at Annadanapura and Reddyvarahalli in Pavagada Taluk of Tumkuru district. Power evacuation will take place through the existing KSPDCL Pooling 220/66 kV Substation No. 6. The project is scheduled to achieve commercial operation within 18 months from the signing of the power purchase agreement and will have a project life of 25 years.

Commenting on the development, Venugopal Rao Maddisetty, Chairman and Managing Director of Pace Digitek Ltd., said that the project reflects the company’s growing capabilities in executing large-scale integrated renewable energy and storage solutions. He noted that the addition of the 1.1 GWh battery storage system will increase Pace Digitek’s total BESS order book portfolio to over 5 GWh and will support the delivery of dispatchable peak-hour power in line with Karnataka’s grid stability requirements.

He further stated that the company will ensure a minimum of 20 percent local content in the project, including the deployment of its indigenously developed Energy Management System software, in line with the ‘Make in India’ initiative and efforts to strengthen the domestic ecosystem for advanced battery technologies. The company expects to complete execution of the project within the next 18 months.

The company, along with its subsidiary Lineage Power Pvt. Ltd. is expanding its footprint in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on contributing to India’s clean energy transition and digital infrastructure development.
