Wind power developer Orient Green Power Company (OGPCL) has announced its strategic expansion into solar power segment with the commissioning of a 7 MW AC solar power project in Tamil Nadu through its subsidiary Delta Renewable Energy.
“The 7 MW AC project received its service connection on December 5, 2025, and, upon the timely completion of all procedural formalities, was successfully commissioned on December 6, 2025. This milestone reflects the company's diversification strategy and its continued commitment to strengthening its renewable energy portfolio,” the company said in a statement.
The project is proposed to operate under the Group Captive Model, with the power generated being supplied to the captive shareholders of Delta. The addition of solar capacity enhances the company's ability to deliver a balanced renewable energy mix, bolsters long-term revenue stability, and positions OGPCL competitively within India's evolving clean-energy landscape, it said.
As part of its foray into the solar power generation segment, OGPCL raised funds through a Rights Issue to implement a 25 MW AC solar power project. Delta is currently in the process of finalising the land parcels for the implementation of the remaining 18 MW AC capacity, the company stated.
