Oriana Power Secures 128 MW Solar Project from Dalmia Cement

Oriana Power's subsidiary, TrueRe Surya Pvt. Ltd., has won a 128 MW solar power plant contract from Dalmia Cement, enhancing sustainability and supporting Dalmia’s renewable energy goals by 2030.

Oriana Power Ltd. has announced that its subsidiary, TrueRe Surya Pvt. Ltd. has secured a significant contract with Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd. The contract, valued at approximately INR 520 crore, involves the development of a 128 MW solar power plant under the Open Access Captive Power Plant segment.

The project will be located in Tamil Nadu and is set to bolster Dalmia Cement's commitment to renewable energy, aiming for RE 100 by 2030 and carbon negativity by 2040. As per the agreement, Dalmia Cement will acquire a 26 percent equity stake in TrueRe Surya Pvt. Ltd., amounting to INR 44.8 crore, to support its solar power needs. The transaction is expected to be completed within 4-6 Months.

This strategic investment highlights Dalmia Cement's dedication to enhancing its sustainability efforts and transitioning to greener energy sources. The project is expected to be completed within 12 months.

The 128 MW solar power plant will be ground-mounted, designed to support Dalmia Cement's energy requirements and contribute to its broader environmental goals. The development of this solar facility underscores the growing emphasis on renewable energy projects in India, aligning with national sustainability objectives and advancing the country's transition to clean energy. The collaboration between Oriana Power and Dalmia Cement reflects a significant step towards integrating large-scale renewable energy solutions into the industrial sector.
