Organic Recycling Systems Wins INR 92.41 Crore BPCL Order for Kozhikode CBG Plant

Organic Recycling Systems, an integrated CleanTech and decarbonisation platform, has secured its third Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operation and Maintenance (EPCOM) contract from Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) within a single week, further accelerating its expansion across India's Compressed Biogas (CBG) sector. The latest Letter of Acceptance, dated September 8, 2026, has been awarded to ORSL's wholly owned subsidiary, Solapur Bioenergy Systems (SBESPL), for an organic municipal solid waste-based CBG plant at Kozhikode, Kerala, with a total contract value of INR 92.41 crore (~USD 9.78 million), inclusive of GST. 

The award takes ORSL's cumulative EPCOM contract wins from BPCL to three projects worth an aggregate INR 259.71 crore (approx USD 27.48 million), spanning Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Kerala. The first two contracts — for Mysuru and Raipur — were awarded on September 3 and 4, 2026 respectively; the Kozhikode award followed just five days later. Each contract carries a five-year Operations and Maintenance (O&M) mandate, together representing approximately 15 cumulative plant-years of contracted, annuity-style operating revenue once all three facilities are commissioned. 

The pace of the latest awards is itself a meaningful data point for investors. Securing three EPCOM mandates from a single PSU counterparty within a single week reflects the depth of confidence BPCL is placing in SBESPL's bidding, engineering and execution capacity — and signals ORSL's ability to scale its integrated CBG platform across multiple geographies concurrently, rather than sequentially. Under the latest contract, SBESPL will undertake the complete EPC scope for the Kozhikode facility, including engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning, followed by comprehensive operations and maintenance. 

The project is scheduled to be mechanically completed within 12 months and fully commissioned within 15 months from the date of the Letter of Acceptance. The Performance Guarantee Test Run is required to be completed within three months of commissioning, or within 18 months of the LOA, whichever is applicable under the contract terms. Following commissioning, SBESPL will undertake comprehensive operations and maintenance of the facility for a period of five years. 

The growing series of BPCL awards is strategically significant for ORSL because the company's mandate extends beyond conventional EPC execution. Under the EPCOM model, SBESPL is responsible for the project lifecycle from engineering and procurement through construction and commissioning, followed by long-term operation and maintenance. 

The five-year O&M mandate on each project provides ORSL with an extended relationship with BPCL and keeps the company involved in the ongoing performance and operation of the facilities well beyond project completion. 

The latest BPCL award further strengthens ORSL's relationship with India's public-sector oil marketing companies. ORSL has also recently secured the renewal of its O&M contract for the Gorakhpur CBG plant with Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL). 

The combination of the three BPCL EPCOM mandates and the renewed IOCL O&M engagement provides further validation of ORSL's technical capabilities, project execution expertise and operational track record in the CBG sector. 

With the Kozhikode contract, ORSL has now secured INR 259.71 crore (~USD  27.48 million) of EPCOM business from BPCL across three states, with each project carrying a five-year O&M mandate and a combined confirmed CBG processing capacity of at least 9.8 TPD across the Mysuru and Raipur plants. 

This progression is particularly significant as India's CBG sector moves towards larger-scale deployment, supported by government initiatives such as the SATAT programme and the GOBARdhan National Circular Bioenergy Scheme. ORSL believes the increasing focus on converting organic municipal solid waste into renewable energy, coupled with the growing participation of PSU oil marketing companies, is creating significant opportunities for companies with integrated capabilities across technology development, engineering, project execution and long-term operations.
