Organic Recycling Systems has appointed Pankaj Tanwar as CEO of its Bioenergy Division to spearhead innovation and growth in sustainable energy solutions.

Organic Recycling Systems has appointed Pankaj Tanwar as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Bioenergy Division.
Tanwar is a seasoned environmental engineer with over two decades of expertise in waste valorisation, resource recovery and bioenergy. He holds an MTech in Environmental Engineering, specialising in advanced waste management, and has consistently driven innovation in water, wastewater and solid waste management systems, with a strong focus on aerobic and anaerobic treatment technologies.
His pioneering work in high-solids thermophilic digestion technologies has significantly enhanced biogas yields and improved the quality of Fermented Organic Manure (FOM). With a techno-commercial mindset, he has successfully led projects across anaerobic digestion, biogas utilisation, power generation and Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) upgrading, while also integrating thermal conversion technologies such as gasification, pyrolysis and incineration into sustainable energy solutions.
Tanwar’s career reflects alignment with national and state bioenergy policies, advancing centralised as well as decentralised bioenergy initiatives. His professional journey includes an impactful tenure at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research–National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI), where he contributed to innovative waste management systems, including Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) solutions.
An accomplished researcher and innovator, Tanwar has authored over 10 international SCI-indexed journal papers and co-authored multiple book chapters on waste management, emission control, and the circular economy. His contributions include developing intermittent cyclic processes to optimise biological systems and real-time monitoring tools for environmental applications.
