The fourth edition of the Oman Electricity and Energy Conference 2025 will be held from October 13 to 15 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center in Muscat.

Organised by Nama Electricity Distribution Company, the event will focus on mechanisms to accelerate energy transition efforts in the Sultanate, aligning with the goals of Oman Vision 2040. The announcement was made during a press conference in Muscat, where Nama outlined the key themes, preparations, and participation of local and international stakeholders. This year’s conference will explore opportunities to diversify the energy mix, enhance grid efficiency, and integrate modern technologies such as artificial intelligence into Oman’s electricity sector to support its sustainability goals.

The event is expected to draw over 2,000 participants and more than 100 speakers from 30 countries. It will feature a packed agenda of panel discussions, workshops, and an accompanying exhibition where organisations will present the latest solutions and innovations in energy and electricity.

Dr. Ahmed Zaid Al-Shaqsi, Director General of Strategy and Sustainability at Nama Electricity Distribution, said the conference will provide a professional platform for decision-makers, experts, and specialists from Oman and abroad to discuss the future of the energy sector. He stressed that the gathering aims to advance renewable energy, energy efficiency, grid modernisation, and digital transformation, contributing to the nation’s energy transition journey.

“We aim to foster productive dialogue and knowledge exchange, offering practical solutions that support the sustainability of Oman’s resources,” Dr. Al-Shaqsi said, highlighting Nama’s role in empowering local talent and enhancing international cooperation.

Dr. Ahmed Said Al Maashari, Chairman of the Oman Society of Engineers and Head of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Sultan Qaboos University, emphasised that the conference is a crucial platform for addressing energy transition strategies in the face of technological change.

He noted that Oman’s strong commitment to renewable energy and sustainability opens new opportunities for development and collaboration. The conference will include technical sessions on regulations and policies, smart grid development, energy storage, distribution optimisation, renewable integration, energy efficiency, and asset management, all focused on accelerating Oman’s shift to a sustainable energy future.

This comes as Oman continues to push forward with its ambitious clean energy targets, including achieving 30% renewable energy by 2030, investing in green hydrogen, and significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
