Ola Electric to Launch Ola Shakti, Expanding Beyond EVs into the Energy Space

Ola Electric is gearing up to unveil its latest innovation, Ola Shakti, on October 16. Originally scheduled for October 17, the launch has been preponed, as confirmed in the company’s regulatory filing.

Commenting on the launch, Founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said in a social media post, “Power has always been a utility, but now it becomes Deep Tech, intelligent, portable, and personal.”

As per reports, the launch indicates Ola’s expansion into the energy storage and battery technology sector, an area where the company could leverage its 4680 Bharat Cell technology developed at its Tamil Nadu Gigafactory.

The reports further indicate that Ola Shakti is expected to be the company’s first non-vehicle product, potentially introducing modular or portable energy storage solutions for homes, businesses, and electric vehicles.

With this move, Ola Electric, India’s pure-play EV manufacturer, is signaling a strategic pivot to build an integrated energy ecosystem beyond mobility.
