OIL, AHECL Ink MoU to Setup Framework for Hydrocarbon Exp & Dev, Natural Gas Marketing
India’s second largest national exploration and production company, Oil India Ltd (OIL) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Assam Hydrocarbon & Energy Company Ltd (AHECL).

India’s second largest national exploration and production company, Oil India Ltd (OIL) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Assam Hydrocarbon & Energy Company Ltd (AHECL).
The MoU has been aimed at establishing a joint institutional framework to facilitate bilateral cooperation in hydrocarbon exploration and development and marketing of natural gas in the state of Assam for mutual benefit.
The agreement was signed in Guwahati in the presence of Sarbanada Sonowal, Chief Minister of Assam, Sum Ronghang, Minister of Hill Areas Development and Mines & Minerals, Government of Assam and Ponakan Baruah, Chairman of AHECL.
SC Mishra, CMD of OIL, VS Bhaskar, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam & Managing Director of AHECL, SK Barua, Managing Director of Numaligarh Refinery Ltd also witnessed the signing of MoUs between the two companies.
During the occasion, Chief Minister of Assam, praised the efforts of OIL and appreciated the contribution of the company in the socio-economic development of Assam.
SC Mishra, CMD, OIL, thanked Government of Assam for its support and guidance in enabling OIL to carry out hydrocarbon exploration, production and transportation operations in the state smoothly over decades. He reiterated the commitment of the company in furthering the hydrocarbon exploration and production activities in the state.
