Gopalpur Industrial Park (GIP) in Odisha’s Ganjam district has an investment pipeline exceeding INR 65,400 crore across green energy, renewable energy equipment and advanced manufacturing, Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Ltd (TSSEZL) said.
Developed by TSSEZL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel, the industrial park has attracted projects in green hydrogen, renewable energy equipment, speciality chemicals, tyres, mineral processing and food processing.
The latest proposal is a green ammonia project involving the Odisha government, Japan based IHI Corporation, ACME Group and TSSEZL. The parties have signed a memorandum of cooperation to develop a 0.4 million tonne per annum green ammonia plant and a jetty less floating terminal at Gopalpur Industrial Park.
TSSEZL Managing Director Manikanta Naik said the company’s vision of developing Gopalpur as a globally competitive industrial destination was taking shape. He attributed the progress partly to government infrastructure projects for supplying power and water to the industrial park.
Further expanding the park’s renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem, TSSEZL and Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd have signed a binding land transfer agreement for a proposed ₹10,000 crore investment. The project is planned to manufacture solar ingots and wafers, supporting domestic clean energy equipment manufacturing.
Companies including Avaada GreenH2, Ocior Energy, Hygenco, Saatvik Solar Industries, World Green Energy, SRF Ltd, ATC Tires and Tata Steel have established or announced projects at the industrial park.
Spread across nearly 2,970 acres, Gopalpur Industrial Park offers land in both the Special Economic Zone and Domestic Tariff Area. The park has internal roads, power and water supply, drainage systems, environmental clearances and multi modal connectivity.
The industrial park was recently recognised with the Smart Industrial Park award by Maritime Gateway for industrial infrastructure and innovation. The award was presented at the Smart Logistics Summit & Awards 2026 in Bhubaneswar.
The projects planned at Gopalpur are expected to create direct and indirect employment while strengthening Odisha’s position as a destination for low carbon manufacturing.
