Odisha Approves INR 54,288 Crore Power and RE Projects

The Odisha government has approved 27 industrial projects involving investments of more than INR 2.45 lakh crore, with the projects expected to generate employment for over 50,000 people.

As per reports, four projects in the power and renewable energy sector were approved, involving a combined investment of INR 54,287.70 crore. The projects form part of the investment proposals cleared at a High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The approved projects are proposed across 15 districts of Odisha and cover sectors including data centres and artificial intelligence, power and energy, steel, semiconductors, lab-grown diamonds, green hydrogen, healthcare, chemicals, textiles, shipbuilding and advanced manufacturing.

The IT, IT-enabled services and data centre sector accounts for the largest share of the proposed investment, with four projects involving a combined investment of around INR 1,42,941 crore.

The projects include an integrated data centre by High Density Data Centre Ltd in Khurda, an AI-optimised data centre by HCL Technologies Ltd in Khurda, a data centre and global capability centre by Sentraforge AI Ltd in Puri, and a data centre by RKD Construction Private Ltd in Cuttack.

In the steel and steel downstream sector, two projects are proposed in Sunderagada, involving a combined investment of INR 14,000 crore.

The Adani Foundation has proposed setting up a 1,000-bed multi-speciality hospital in Khurda at an investment of INR 2,150 crore.
