Odisha Approves 1.46 Lakh Crore Investment Proposals Including Major Energy Projects
The Odisha government has cleared 33 investment proposals worth INR 1.46 lakh crore across multiple sectors including Adani Enterprises' coal-to-chemical, Jindal India Power's thermal, ACME Akshay Energy's green methanol and ammonia, and Icon Solar-En Power Technologies' solar cells plant.

The Odisha government has approved 33 new investment proposals worth INR 1.46 lakh crore, spanning green energy, IT & ESDM, aerospace and defence, textiles, food processing, tourism, speciality steel, aluminium, datacentres, chemicals, and semiconductors.
The approvals came during meetings of the High Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and the Single Window Clearance Committee (SLWCA), led by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.
The HLCA cleared 12 major projects worth INR 1.42 lakh crore, expected to create nearly 49,745 jobs, while the SLWCA approved investments of INR 4,019 crore, generating 16,590 jobs.
From the energy sector, key proposals included Adani Enterprises’ INR 84,000-crore coal-to-chemical project in Sundergarh district. Jindal India Power’s INR 14,800 crore ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Angul, and ACME Akshay Energy’s INR 14,766.50 crore green methanol and ammonia facilities in Kendrapara and Icon Solar-En Power Technologies’ (Icon Solar) INR 750 crore solar cell manufacturing facility in Ganjam.
Other major proposals include Reliance Consumer’s INR 938 crore food and beverage plant in Khordha, Hindalco Industries’ aluminium plant in Sambalpur, CESC Green Power’s ESDM manufacturing project in Dhenkanal, and new ventures in specialty chemicals, silicon carbon for anodes, and rare earth materials.
As per an official statement, in the past 500 days, Odisha has held 12 Single Window and 7 HLCA meetings, approving 330 projects worth INR 7.7 lakh crore, with the potential to create 4.7 lakh jobs. Additionally, 76 projects were fast-tracked and grounded, and 8 inaugurated, representing INR 2.04 lakh crore in investments and 1.63 lakh direct jobs across various skill levels.
