O-Green has achieved financial closure for its 93 MW solar power project in Sohar Industrial City, marking a major step forward in Oman’s clean energy transition.

Developed in partnership with Public Establishment for Industrial Estates Madayn, the project is the country’s largest solar initiative dedicated to powering industrial zones.

The financing was secured through National Islamic Bank, highlighting growing momentum for sustainable finance and renewable infrastructure investments in the Sultanate.

Spread across nearly 1.45 million square metres, the solar facility has already surpassed 60 percent construction completion, with around 150,000 solar panels installed across multiple phases.

Once commissioned in September 2026, the project will deliver clean electricity directly to more than 200 industrial and commercial units within Sohar Industrial City, helping reduce emissions and improve industrial energy efficiency.

The project is also Oman’s first industrial solar development to implement a direct supply model, enabling factories and businesses within the estate to integrate renewable power directly into their operations.

In a separate development, Arab Open University signed an agreement with O-Green to establish a dedicated solar power plant on its campus.

O-Green currently manages over 3.3 GW of power generation assets and more than 2.3 GWh of energy storage capacity, with an additional 10 GW pipeline of projects under development across Asia, Europe, and Africa.
