Nuvoco, CleanMax Partner for 46.4 MW Rajasthan Hybrid Project

Nuvoco Vistas Corp. Ltd. has partnered with Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Ltd. (CleanMax) to develop a 46.4 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project at Bhikamkhore in Rajasthan to supply clean electricity for Nuvoco’s cement operations.

The project will comprise 20 MW of wind capacity and 26.4 MWdc of solar capacity, along with a 2-MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). CleanMax will develop the project as an independent power producer (IPP), with electricity supplied to Nuvoco through the State Transmission Utility (STU) Open Access network.

Once operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 100 million units (MU) of renewable electricity annually. It is also expected to help avoid approximately 1,25,485 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually, covering Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.

The partnership is aimed at increasing the share of renewable energy in Nuvoco’s electricity consumption, reducing its dependence on conventional power sources and supporting its long-term decarbonisation strategy. The company said that the initiative would also contribute to energy cost efficiency across its Rajasthan operations.

Jayakumar Krishnaswamy, managing director of Nuvoco Vistas Corp. Ltd., said that the collaboration would increase renewable energy use across the company’s Rajasthan operations, strengthen its energy mix and reduce dependence on conventional power sources. He added that the initiative supports the company’s commitment to operational efficiency and sustainable growth.

Kuldeep Jain, founder and managing director of CleanMax, said that the project reflects the growing role of clean energy in manufacturing industries’ core operations and long-term strategies. He added that the hybrid project is designed to provide long-term cost certainty while supporting Nuvoco’s transition to cleaner power.

The project builds on Nuvoco’s existing measures to reduce the carbon intensity of its manufacturing operations. These include renewable energy adoption, waste heat recovery systems (WHRS), energy-efficiency improvements and increased use of alternative fuels.

The initiative also supports the company’s DIRE (Digitalisation, Innovation and Renewables) agenda, which focuses on climate action, renewable energy adoption, water stewardship, circularity and biodiversity conservation across its manufacturing operations.

Nuvoco operates in the cement, ready-mix concrete and modern building materials segments, with a presence across eastern, northern and western India. The company reported total income of INR 11,362 crore in FY2025-26 and is working towards a total cement capacity of 35 million tonnes per annum (MMTPA).

CleanMax provides renewable energy solutions to commercial and industrial customers. Its contracted renewable energy portfolio stood at 6.0 GW as of June 30, 2026, while its customer base included companies across technology, digital infrastructure, manufacturing and industrial sectors
