The announcement was made during an online broadcast on December 7, where NTPC proudly secured two Silver Awards, distinguishing itself as the sole Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) in India to achieve this dual recognition.
The Silver Awards were conferred upon NTPC in two distinct categories: 'Best Advance in Corporate Wellbeing Technology' and 'Best Advance in Augmented and Virtual Reality.' These accolades underscore NTPC's unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation and technological excellence, positioning it as a pioneer in corporate wellbeing and immersive technologies.
In the 'Best Advance in Corporate Wellbeing Technology' category, NTPC was honored for its innovative approach to designing an Individual-Centric Health Care Ecosystem. This technology addresses the challenges posed by the diversity and remoteness of NTPC sites, providing effective medical services to all employees across locations.
The Silver Award in the 'Best Advance in Augmented and Virtual Reality' category acknowledges NTPC's leadership in adopting cutting-edge technologies. Recognizing the pivotal role of AR/VR in capacity building, NTPC introduced several initiatives under the umbrella of 'iGuru.'
This included the establishment of 'iGuru' Labs at training centers across power plants, with a focus on 'Train the Trainer' programs. The systematic implementation of AR/VR solutions has significantly enhanced workforce skill sets, aligning with evolving business needs in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
