NTPC Renewable Energy Signs MoU with Gujarat Govt to Develop 10 GW Solar and 5 GW Wind Projects

NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), has signed an MoU with the Government of Gujarat to develop 15 GW of solar and wind power projects in the state, at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference 2025, held at Mehsana, Gujarat.

NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat for the development of solar parks and projects with a cumulative capacity of 10 GW and wind projects of 5 GW in the state.

The MoU was exchanged during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference held at Mehsana, Gujarat.

Additionally, the NTPC Group signed another MoU with the Gujarat Government to explore opportunities in both conventional and non-conventional energy sectors. The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi, Gujarat’s Minister for Finance, Energy and Petrochemicals Kanubhai Desai, and CMD NTPC Gurdeep Singh.

NTPC is India's largest integrated power utility, contributing one-fourth of India's power requirements. It has an installed capacity of over 83 GW, with an additional capacity of 30.90 GW under construction, including 13.3 GW of renewable energy capacity. The company is committed to achieving 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032, strengthening India's Net Zero goals.

Along with power generation, NTPC has ventured into various new business areas, including e-mobility, battery storage, pumped hydro storage, waste-to-energy, nuclear power and green hydrogen solutions.
