NTPC Renewable Energy Invites Bids for 100 MWh Vanadium Redox Flow BESS Project at Khavda

NTPC Renewable Energy has issued a tender to develop a 16.7 MW/100 MWh vanadium redox flow BESS at Khavda Solar Park on a turnkey EPC basis. Bid submission ends on December 30, 2025.

NTPC Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy, has floated a tender for EPC package for the development of 100 MWh vanadium redox flow BESS at Khavda Solar Park by NTPC REL.

The scope of work includes design, engineering, supply, packaging and forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of grid-connected 16.7 MW/100 MWh of Vanadium Redox flow-based Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on turnkey basis.

BESS capacity to be considered is the rated AC discharge capacity at point of injection/metering. BESS should be integrated at 33 kV pooling substation of solar plant, the NIT document stated.

Bid document will be available from December 5, 2025. The last date for submission of bids is December 30, 2025 till 3:00 PM. The techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same day at 3:30 PM.

Bidder must bid for the entire project capacity.

Designed life of BESS system including that of battery shall be of 25 years from the date of successful completion of commissioning.

Additionally, the bidder must offer comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) work of BESS system for 10 years from the date of successful commissioning.
