NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. (NTPC REL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL), has emerged as the successful bidder in the e-reverse auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on August 4, 2025, for the full capacity of 70,000 metric tonnes per annum (MT/Year) of Green Ammonia.
NTPC REL has secured this capacity at INR 51.80/kg, setting a new record. This auction covers the supply of 75,000 metric tonnes per annum of Green Ammonia to Krishana Phoschem Ltd., located in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh, stated the company in a regulatory filing.
It is the second in a planned series of 13 auctions over the coming month, under a tender aggregating a cumulative procurement capacity of 7.24 lakh MT/year, SECI said in a statement.
Last week, ACME Cleantech Solutions won SECI’s first-ever Green Ammonia auction under the SIGHT Scheme (Mode-2A) at a bid price of INR 55.75/kg to supply 75,000 MTPA to Paradeep Phosphates Ltd., Odisha.
“With robust payment security mechanisms in place and assured offtake, the scheme is unlocking confidence across the value chain. The green hydrogen industry is responding with enthusiasm, and India’s ambitions are moving full steam ahead, or should we say, full hydrogen ahead,” stated SECI.
