NTPC REL, Juniper, Green Infra Win 900 MW in SECI's Tranche VII Wind-Solar Hybrid Auction

NTPC Renewable Energy secured 300 MW with the lowest quoted tariff of INR 3.15/kWh. Juniper Green Energy and Green Infra Wind Energy (Sembcorp) secured 150 MW and 450 MW, respectively, both quoting INR 3.21/kWh.

The auction had an initial bid capacity of 2,000 MW, but only 1,265 MW of bids were received, leading to a reduction in the auction capacity to 1,012 MW. SECI had floated the tender in October of the previous year.
According to the terms of the auction, the projects must be operational within 24 months from the date of the power purchase agreement (PPA).
Additionally, the rated installed capacity of either the solar or wind component should be at least 33 percent of the contracted capacity, and the declared annual capacity utilization factor (CUF) must not fall below 30 percent.
Developers are obligated to maintain energy supply, ensuring an annual supply equivalent to a CUF not less than 90 percent and not exceeding 120 percent of the declared value throughout the 25-year duration of the PPA.
