NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has opened the bidding process for the development of 900 MW ISTS connected solar PV projects in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. The green shoe option of an additional 300 MW adds to the anticipation surrounding this renewable energy initiative.
The scope of work outlined in the tender includes crucial land-related tasks, such as securing government or private land near Kurnool ISTS substation on a freehold or leasehold basis. The lease period is set at a minimum of 30 years. To ensure optimal conditions for solar project installation, the tender also mandates a topography survey for land parcels and necessary cutting/filling with 95 percent compaction
Bidders vying for this project must meet specific technical and financial criteria. Technically, they should have executed grid-connected solar PV projects, solar parks, wind projects, wind parks, or a combination thereof, with a cumulative capacity of 100 MW or higher. At least one project or park should have a capacity of 50 MW or more.
Financially, the bidder's figures for any three out of the preceding five financial years, as of the date of techno-commercial bid opening, must align with the stipulated requirements. The tender specifies a minimum financial figure of INR 19.47 crores for a quoted capacity of 50 MW to 300 MW. For capacities exceeding 300 MW, the minimum financial figure is set at INR 6.49 lakhs per MW.
The bidding process is set to conclude on December 18, 2023, with the techno-commercial bid opening on the same day. Previous tenders have included wind turbine generators for a 1000 MW project in Gujarat and a balance of system package for a 1080 MW project in Karnataka.
