NTPC Operationalises Incremental 167 MW Part Capacity at Nokh Solar PV Project in Rajasthan
NTPC has commissioned 167 MW out of 245 MW at Plot 1 of its 735 MW Nokh Solar PV project in Rajasthan, raising its total commercial capacity to 83,863 MW on a group basis.

State-owned NTPC has announced the commissioning of 167 MW out of 245 MW at Plot 1 of its 735 MW Nokh Solar PV project in Rajasthan.
“167 MW out of 245 MW capacity at Plot-1 of NTPC's Nokh Solar PV Project (3x245MW), Rajasthan, is declared on Commercial Operation w.e.f. 00:00 Hrs of September 26, 2025,” the company stated in a regulatory filing.
With this, the total installed and commercial capacity of NTPC on a standalone and group basis has now become 60,705 MW & 83,863 MW, respectively.
The 245 MW Plot 3 was fully commissioned in June 2025.
NTPC aims to achieve 50 percent non-fossil fuel-based power generation capacity and 60 GW of renewable energy capacity in its portfolio by 2032. And, for this, the company is going for aggressive expansion of RE projects across India.
Recently, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) granted enhanced delegation of power to NTPC from the extant guidelines of delegation of power to Maharatna CPSEs for making investment in its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy.
Subsequently, NGEL will be investing in NTPC REL and its other JVs/ subsidiaries beyond earlier approved prescribed limit of INR 7,500 crore up to an amount of INR 20,000 crore for renewable energy (RE) capacity addition to achieve 60 GW renewable energy capacity by 2032.
In March 2025, NTPC and its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL) signed agreements worth INR 96,000 crore with the Chhattisgarh government at the Chhattisgarh Energy Investors Summit 2025 to develop nuclear, pumped hydro, and renewable energy projects in the state. As part of the agreements, 4,200 MW nuclear capacity, 1,200 MW pumped hydro storage and 2 GW of renewable energy projects.
In February 2025, NTPC group signed multiple MoUs with the Madhya Pradesh government during the Global Investors Summit 2025 to develop renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and pumped hydro, with a total investment of over INR 2 lakh crore.
