NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) has announced the commissioning of the third part capacity of 270 MW out of 1200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project located in Gujarat through its wholly-owned subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy. With this, the plant’s operational capacity has increased to 645 MW.

The second part capacity of 165 MW was operationalised in February 2026, while the first part capacity of 210 MW was operationalised in January 2026.

With the addition of this capacity, the total installed capacity of the NGEL Group has increased to 9,562.68 MW.

Earlier this week, NTPC Green Energy’s group company, Ayana Renewable Power, operationalised the second part capacity of 91.6 MW, thereby fully commissioning its 250 MW solar project in Andhra Pradesh.

Last month, NTPC Green Energy, through its wholly-owned subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy, commissioned the first 50 MW of its 200 MW Dayapar Wind Energy Project Phase-II in Gujarat. Additionally, NGEL’s subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy commissioned the second part capacity of 210 MW at its 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV project in Gujarat.

In February 2026, NGEL also commissioned an additional 125 MW at its Bhadla Solar PV Project in Rajasthan, taking the plant’s operational capacity to 425 MW.

In January 2026, NGEL operationalised 130.47 MW at its Khavda-I Solar Project in Gujarat.

In December 2025, NTPC Group added approximately 404.68 MW of capacity across Rajasthan and Gujarat. While NTPC operationalised about 78 MW at its Nokh Solar PV Project in Rajasthan, NTPC Renewable Energy commissioned 326.68 MW of part capacity of its 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat.

By 2032, NTPC plans to have 60 GW capacity through RE sources, constituting nearly 45 percent of its overall power generation capacity.
