NTPC Green Energy Invites Bids for 130 MW BESS Projects in Telangana and Chhattisgarh

NTPC Green Energy has issued an EPC tender to develop battery energy storage systems of 100 MW/400 MWh at Ramagundam, Telangana and 30 MW/120 MWh at Sipat, Chhattisgarh. Bid submission ends on June 24, 2025.

NTPC Green Energy has floated an EPC tender to develop battery energy storage system (BESS) of a cumulative capacity of 130 MW/520 MWh at NTPC Ramagundam in Telangana and NTPC Sipat in Chhattisgarh.

While the project at Ramagundam will have a capacity of 100 MW/400 MWh, the project capacity at Sipat will be 30 MW/120 MWh.

The bidder must provide comprehensive operation and maintenance for 15 years.

The last date for submission of bids June 24, 2025 till 2:00 PM. The techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same day at 2:30 PM.

The scope of work includes design, engineering, supply, packaging and forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, construction, erection, testing, commissioning of grid-connected BESS project on turnkey basis. BESS must be integrated at 33 kV pooling substation of solar plant.

It also includes grid compliance study, reactive power compensations and power quality compliance for BESS system up to 400 KV/220 KV grid interconnection point at NTPC projects switchyard.

BESS must be provided in NFPA compliant standardised container with minimum DC capacity of 5 MWh per container.

Designed life of BESS system including that of battery must be of 15 years, considering daily single cycle operation, from the date of successful completion of trial run.
