NTPC Green Energy Commissions 75.5 MW Part Capacity of 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project

NTPC Green Energy has begun commercial operations for 75.5 MW part capacity of its 1,255 MW Khavda-I solar project in Gujarat. With this, the group’s total installed capacity has increased to 7,639.075 MW.

NTPC Green Energy has announced the commissioning of a part capacity of 75.5 MW out of 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat.

“Consequent upon successful commissioning, part capacity of 75.5 MW out of 1255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project under CPSU scheme Phase-II Tranche-III located in Gujarat of NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy, is declared on Commercial Operation w.e.f. 00:00 Hrs. of November 19, 2025,” the company stated in a regulatory filing.

It further added that with the addition of this capacity, the total installed capacity of the NGEL Group has increased to 7,639.075 MW.

In July 2025, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) granted enhanced delegation of power to NTPC from the extant guidelines of delegation of power to Maharatna CPSEs for making an investment in its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy.

Subsequently, NGEL will be investing in NTPC REL and its other JVs/ subsidiaries beyond the earlier approved prescribed limit of INR 7,500 crore up to an amount of INR 20,000 crore for renewable energy (RE) capacity addition to achieve 60 GW renewable energy capacity by 2032.
