NTPC Green Energy Commissions 125 MW Solar Capacity at 500 MW Bhadla Solar Project in Rajasthan

NTPC Green Energy has commissioned an additional 125 MW at its Bhadla Solar PV Project in Rajasthan, taking the plant’s operational capacity to 425 MW. With this, the company’s total installed capacity has increased to 8,813.25 MW.

NTPC Green Energy has announced the commissioning of the second part capacity of 125 MW at its 500 MW Bhadla Solar PV Project in Rajasthan. With this, the total operational capacity at the plant has increased to 425 MW.

“Based on the certificate received from Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation (RREC), the second part capacity of 125 MW out of 500 MW Bhadla Solar PV Project located in Phalodi, Rajasthan of NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy, is declared on Commercial Operation w.e.f. 00:00 hrs of January 31, 2026,” the company stated in a regulatory filing.

The first part capacity of 300 MW was operationalised in January 2026.

With the addition of this capacity, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Group has increased to 8,813.25 MW.

Last month, the company operationalised 210 MW at 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar Project and 130.47 MW at Khavda-I Solar Project in Gujarat.

In December 2025, NTPC Group added approximately 404.68 MW of capacity across Rajasthan and Gujarat. While NTPC operationalised about 78 MW at its Nokh Solar PV Project in Rajasthan, NTPC Renewable Energy commissioned 326.68 MW of part capacity of its 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat.

By 2032, NTPC plans to have 60 GW capacity through RE sources, constituting nearly 45 percent of its overall power generation capacity.
