NTPC Green Energy Announces Commissioning of 75 MW of IRCON Renewable Power

NTPC Green Energy announces the commissioning of 75 MW (Lot-4) of its IRCON Renewable Power Ltd. project, bringing the cumulative operational capacity to 225 MW out of 500 MW.

NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, has successfully commenced commercial operations for 75 MW of solar power capacity under Lot-4 of the IRCON Renewable Power Ltd. (IRPL) project.

This marks a key milestone in the phased commissioning of the 500 MW solar power project. The addition of this 75 MW brings the cumulative operational capacity of the IRPL plant to 225 MW, with the commercial operation commencing from May 2, 2025.

IRPL is a joint venture between Ayana Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd. and ONGC NTPC Green Pvt. Ltd., a collaboration between NTPC and ONGC. The project is being developed in phases, supporting India’s renewable energy objectives.

Additionally, NTPC Green Energy added 135 MW of renewable energy capacity in Q4 FY25, contributing to a total of 550 MW added during the year. This expansion aligns with NTPC's broader goal of achieving 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032

NGEL continues to play a critical role in advancing India’s clean energy transition, furthering the goals set by NTPC and ONGC for a cleaner, greener future.
