NTPC Green Commissions 75 MW Under IRPL JV, Takes Total Capacity to 300 MW

NTPC Green Energy has declared commercial operation of 75 MW under its IRPL solar project. This brings the joint venture’s operational capacity to 300 MW, part of a planned 500 MW.

NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL) has announced the successful commissioning of 75 MW (Lot-5) of solar capacity under the IRCON Renewable Power Ltd. (IRPL) project.

This milestone takes the total commissioned capacity of the project to 300 MW, out of a planned 500 MW. The project is being implemented by IRPL, a joint venture between Ayana Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd. and ONGC NTPC Green Pvt. Litd. Ayana is a wholly owned subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green, which itself is a JV between energy giants ONGC and NTPC.

According to a regulatory filing submitted to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE on August 4, 2025, NTPC Green confirmed that commercial operations for this newly added 75 MW commenced from August 6, 2025.

With this addition, NTPC Green continues to expand its renewable footprint, reaffirming its commitment to India’s clean energy transition and sustainable growth.
