NTPC Fully Commissions 245 MW Capacity at Nokh Solar Project in Rajasthan

NTPC has commenced commercial operations of second and last part capacity of 52 MW at Plot 3 with a total capacity of 245 MW at its Nokh Solar PV Project in Rajasthan. With this NTPC group’s total installed capacity has reached 82.08 GW.

State-owned NTPC has announced the commissioning of the second and last part capacity of 52 MW at Plot 3 its Nokh Solar PV project in Rajasthan. With this, Plot 3 with a total capacity of 245 MW is now fully operational.

“Consequent upon successful commissioning, the second and last part capacity of 52 MW out of 245 MW capacity at Plot-3 of NTPC's Nokh Solar PV Project (3x245MW), Rajasthan, is declared on Commercial Operation w.e.f. 00:00 Hrs. of June 22, 2025,” the company stated in a regulatory filing.

The first part capacity of 193 MW was operationalised on June 9, 2025.

With this, the total standalone and group commercial capacity of NTPC has now become 60,318 MW and 81,420 MW respectively. The total standalone and group installed capacity of NTPC has now become 60,978 MW and 82,080 MW, respectively.

NTPC aims to achieve 50 percent non-fossil fuel-based power generation capacity and 60 GW of renewable energy capacity in its portfolio by 2032. And, for this, the company is going for aggressive expansion of RE projects across India.

In March 2025, NTPC and its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL) signed agreements worth INR 96,000 crore with the Chhattisgarh government at the Chhattisgarh Energy Investors Summit 2025 to develop nuclear, pumped hydro, and renewable energy projects in the state. As part of the agreements, 4,200 MW nuclear capacity, 1,200 MW pumped hydro storage and 2 GW of renewable energy projects.

In February 2025, NTPC group signed multiple MoUs with the Madhya Pradesh government during the Global Investors Summit 2025 to develop renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and pumped hydro, with a total investment of over INR 2 lakh crore.
