NTPC, Engineers India Ltd Join Forces for Advancements in Carbon Capture and Green Fuels

In a significant development, NTPC's Research & Development (R&D) center, NETRA, and Engineers India Ltd (EIL) have inked a memorandum of association (MoA) to collaborate in the fields of carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) as well as green fuels, encompassing green hydrogen and green ammonia.
 
NTPC Ltd, India's largest integrated power utility, caters to a substantial portion of the nation's power needs, boasting an installed capacity exceeding 73 GW.
 
The company's diverse portfolio includes thermal, hydro, solar, and wind power plants. The NTPC Group has set an ambitious target of achieving 60 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2032.
 
The collaboration between NETRA and EIL signifies a significant stride towards decarbonisation. NTPC has been actively involved in several initiatives, including hydrogen blending, carbon capture, and the introduction of fuel cell buses, all aimed at mitigating environmental impact and driving the adoption of cleaner energy solutions in India.
