NTPC Commissions 193 MW Part Capacity at Nokh Solar Project in Rajasthan

NTPC has commenced commercial operations of 193 MW at its Nokh Solar PV Project in Rajasthan, boosting the group’s total installed capacity to 80,708 MW.

State-owned NTPC has announced the commissioning of a part capacity of 193 MW at its Nokh Solar PV project in Rajasthan.

“Consequent upon successful commissioning, 193 MW out of 245 MW capacity at Plot 3 of NTPC's Nokh Solar PV Project (3x245MW), Rajasthan, is declared on Commercial Operation w.e.f. 00:00 Hrs. of June 9, 2025,” stated the company in a regulatory filing.

It further added that with this, the total installed and commercial capacity of NTPC on a standalone and group basis will now become 59,606 MW and 80,708 MW respectively.

NTPC aims to achieve 50 percent non-fossil fuel-based power generation capacity and 60 GW of renewable energy capacity in its portfolio by 2032. And, for this, the company is going for aggressive expansion of RE projects across India.

In March 2025, NTPC and its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL) signed agreements worth INR 96,000 crore with the Chhattisgarh government at the Chhattisgarh Energy Investors Summit 2025 to develop nuclear, pumped hydro, and renewable energy projects in the state. As part of the agreements, 4,200 MW nuclear capacity, 1,200 MW pumped hydro storage and 2 GW of renewable energy projects.

In February 2025, NTPC group signed multiple MoUs with the Madhya Pradesh government during the Global Investors Summit 2025 to develop renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and pumped hydro, with a total investment of over INR 2 lakh crore.
