NTPC has commissioned 13.98 MW of solar power capacity at its Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat, strengthening its renewable energy portfolio and pushing the group’s total installed and commercial capacity to 85,637 MW.

The company declared the ninth part capacity of the 1,255 MW Khavda-I project as commercially operational. NTPC Renewable Energy is developing the project under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II, Tranche-III, through NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC.

Following the latest commissioning, the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group’s commercial capacity has increased to 7,996.30 MW. With this addition, the group’s total installed capacity now stands at 8,010.28 MW, reflecting steady progress in scaling up clean energy assets across the country.

The Khavda-I Solar PV Project forms part of NTPC’s broader strategy to expand renewable generation and support India’s transition to a low-carbon energy mix. The project is located in Gujarat’s Khavda region, which has emerged as a key hub for large-scale renewable energy development.

NTPC continues to commission capacities in phases as it advances construction and grid integration at the Khavda site, reinforcing its position as India’s largest power producer and a leading driver of renewable energy growth.
