NTPC Arm Gets LoA for 325MW Solar Projects in Madhya Pradesh

State-run NTPC’s wholly-owned subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), has received a Letter of Award (LoA) to develop an aggregate 325 MW of capacity solar power projects at Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd’s (RUMSL) Shajapur Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.

State-run NTPC’s wholly-owned subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), has received a Letter of Award (LoA) to develop an aggregate 325 MW of capacity solar power projects at Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd’s (RUMSL) Shajapur Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.
 
Further, the letter of award has been given by Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, to Mohit Bhargava, CEO of NTPC REL.
 
Also, Shivraj Singh Chauhan presented the letter of award to Agar, Shajapur and Neemuch Solar Park with a capacity of 1,500 MW at Bhopal. After completion, state power distribution companies (Discoms) and Railways will purchase power from these projects.
 
Earlier on July 19, 2021, the company had won a capacity of 105 MW at a tariff rate of Rs 2.35/kWh, and another capacity of 220 MW at a tariff rate of Rs 2.33/kWh in the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd’s auction to develop 450 MW of solar projects at Shajapur Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh. 
 
With this, NTPC achieved 4.4 GW of capacity through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB).
