The New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) has announced the winners of its 233.33 MW rooftop solar auction conducted under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, marking a significant push toward decentralised solar adoption in the state.
The tender targets the installation of rooftop solar systems of up to 2 kW capacity for 116,663 Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe households across Andhra Pradesh.
A total of 19 developers emerged successful in the auction. Sadbhav Futuretech secured the highest allocation with 64.5 MW, followed by Ecozen Solutions with 40.2 MW, Ray Power Solutions with 35 MW, Enmas EPC Power Projects with 32.04 MW, and Assure Energy Systems with 16.14 MW. Several other bidders won capacities ranging between around 1 MW and 5 MW, collectively accounting for the full tendered capacity.
Under the scope of work, selected developers are responsible for end-to-end execution, including site surveys, system design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems. The contracts also include all associated civil, electrical, cabling, and piping works, along with five years of comprehensive operation and maintenance. Developers must obtain grid connectivity approvals and ensure compliance with documentation and data acquisition system requirements.
The projects are subject to domestic content requirements, and strict penalty provisions apply in case of delays or extended system downtime. These include encashment of performance bank guarantees and penalties of up to INR 500 per kW per day for non-compliance beyond stipulated timelines. The auction follows Andhra Pradesh’s earlier 1.2 GW rooftop solar tender under the same scheme, reinforcing the state’s focus on expanding residential rooftop solar capacity through large-scale aggregation models.
