National Power Training Institute (NPTI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the All India Discom Association (AIDA) to strengthen cooperation, technological advancement, and inclusive growth in India’s power distribution sector.
The collaboration will focus on assessing the training needs of DISCOM employees and delivering advanced capacity-building programmes in areas such as smart metering, SCADA, data analytics, cybersecurity, AI/ML, blockchain, IT/OT, network planning, and energy accounting.
The MoU was exchanged between Dr. Tripta Thakur, Director General, NPTI, and Alok Kumar (Retd. IAS), Director General, AIDA; former Energy Secretary.
A special emphasis will be placed on technical training for women, encouraging their active participation and leadership in the power distribution sector, NPTI said in social media post.
“The partnership will also drive knowledge exchange through seminars, workshops, and research studies on key areas of the sector.” It said.
“This collaboration will enable capacity building, knowledge sharing, and technology adoption to support India’s power distribution transformation,” stated AIDA.
