NLC India Targets 20 GW Power Capacity Under Vision 2047 at 70th AGM

NLC India highlights strong FY 2025-26 performance with revenue from operations reaching INR 17,490 crore and outlines its roadmap for power, mining, renewables, BESS and green hydrogen.

NLC India, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of the Ministry of Coal, Government of India has conducted its 70th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Delhi and virtually through video conferencing on September 29, 2026. 

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Prasanna Kumar Acharya, Chairman-cum Managing Director; and Director (Finance) Addi. Charge. Board Members including Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines) (through VC); Samir Swarup, Director (Human Resource) and (Power) Addi.Charge; Rajesh Pratap Singh Sisodia, Director (Planning & Projects); Anil Mesh Ram, Government Nominee Director (through VC); Gopal Singh, Government Nominee Director (through VC); Pradeep Nayan, Presidential Nominee (Ministry of Coal); Poonam Chandrakar; and Sushanta Kumar Panda, Company Secretary, participated. 

Dr. Prasanna Kumar Acharya, CMD, shared the Company's financial and operational performance, sectoral outlook, expansion initiatives, Safety, Environmental and Social commitments and opportunities ahead under the theme ‘From Resources to Resilience.’ 

He stated that NLCIL had reported a consolidated Profit Before Tax (PBT) of 3,875 Crore and an all-time high Profit After Tax (PAT) of 3,769 Crore, marking a growth of 4.84 percent and 38.91 percent respectively over the previous year. He also said that the revenue from operations reached 17,490 Crore, while EBITDA touched an all-time high of 7,475 Crore, reflecting a growth of 14.44  percent and 14.78 percent respectively. Capital expenditure for the year reached a record 9,131 Crore, with net worth expanding by 14.96 percent  to 21 ,525 Crore. He announced a total dividend payout of 38.5 percent (~533.86 Crore) for FY 2025-26, including the interim dividend of 36 percent. 

Highlighting physical milestones, he reported an all-time high annual coal production of 19.14 MT and dispatch of 17.69 MT from Talabira-11 & Ill OCP, alongside generating a record 2.26 Billion Units of green energy. 

He noted key operational achievements including the commencement of coal production at Pachwara South Coal Mine, full commercial operation of all three 660 MW units at NUPPL Ghatampur, and the expansion of the Group's renewable portfolio to 1,785 MW.  Outlining NLCIL's transformation into a diversified energy enterprise as it enters its 70th year. 

He further highlighted the roadmap toward achieving 20 GW power capacity and over 100 MTPA mining capacity under Vision 2047, driven by renewable expansion on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), green hydrogen pilot projects, overburden-to-M-sand plants and strategic diversification into critical minerals. 

Later, Dr. Acharya has also interacted with shareholders through VC and answered their queries.
