NLC India has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary NLC India Renewables (NIRL) has received a letter of intent (LoI) from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) for the development of 300 MW wind power projects.
NIRL secured 100 MW of capacity at a tariff of INR 3.51/kWh in GUVNL’s auction to procure power from 250 MW of grid-connected wind projects (Phase-XI), held in July 2026. The other winners were Juniper Green Energy, Powerica and Cu-Built Renewable Energy.
Subsequently, NIRL accepted the Greenshoe and additional Greenshoe capacities of 100 MW each, aggregating to a total capacity of 300 MW.
The tender for this was floated in May 2026.
GUVNL shall enter into a PPA with the successful bidders for a period of 25 years.
As per the tender specifications, developers shall be required to set up wind power project(s), including the transmission network for connecting the project with the CTU/STU network. The projects shall be located at the locations chosen by the bidders anywhere in India at their own discretion of cost, risk and responsibility.
The type-certified wind turbine models listed in 'Approved list of Models and Manufacturers (Wind)', prepared by MNRE and amended from time to time, will only be allowed to be deployed in the projects.
The offered/declared annual CUF must not be less than 25 percent. The developer must install and maintain a GPS-enabled Automatic Weather Station (AWS).
