The venture aims to establish a robust 125 MW Lignite Based Power Plant and an expansive 1000 MW Solar Power Plant, with an investment exceeding INR 7000 crores.

The exchange of the MoU took place between NLC India Limited and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL). The event was graced by the presence of key dignitaries including Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD of NLC India Ltd, and Devender Singhvi from RVUNL. The MoU encompasses ambitious projects such as the establishment of a 125 MW Lignite Pit-head Thermal Power Plant in the Bikaner district, alongside a mammoth 1000 MW Solar Power Plant, underlining NLCIL's dedication to renewable energy initiatives.

Additionally, a Letter of Intent (LoI) for an 810 MW solar power plant has already been issued, aligning with NLC India's corporate plan to become a power major with a capacity of 17 GW, including more than 6 GW of renewable capacity by 2030.

Moreover, during the ceremony, additional Memorandums of Understanding were signed with Coal India Ltd, NTPC, PGCIL, and REC to enhance generation capacity and transmission systems, alongside financing agreements.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi commended the proactive vision of the Prime Minister and the steadfast commitment of the Rajasthan CM in expediting these transformative projects. Amrit Lal Meena, Coal Secretary, Government of India, expressed confidence in the capabilities of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under the Coal Ministry, affirming that with the support provided by the Rajasthan Government in terms of infrastructure and land, the signed projects will significantly enhance the nation's energy security.
