NHPC Issues Tender Pursuing EPC Contractors for Floating Solar Project worth 50 MW in Kerala

The selected developers will have a period of 12 months to complete the work of the installation of the floating solar system. Following which they will be required to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance services for the plant for a period of 10 years

NHPC Ltd has announced that it has issued a tender, appealing bids from eligible companies for taking up the Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contract for the 50 MW floating solar PV power project at West Kallada, Kollam district, in the state of Kerala.

The selected developers will have a period of 12 months to complete the work of the installation of the floating solar system. Following which they will be required to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance services for the plant for a period of 10 years.

The last date for bid submission is August 14, 2020, (August 11, 2020, for online submission) and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on August 17, 2020. The date and time of opening of the price bids and the e-reverse auction will be intimated to the technically cleared bidders later. A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for July 15, 2020, to address the concerns raised by the prospective bidders.

To be eligible for participating in the bidding process, the bidder must have experience of having successfully completed a solar power project during the last five years on EPC basis, as a contractor, having capacities as below, as on the last date of the month prior to the bid submission date:

  • Two Solar Power projects of at least 25 MW Capacity each or
  • Three Solar Power projects of at least 20 MW Capacity each.

Further, the bidders should also have successful experience of operation & maintenance for a minimum of 20 MW solar power project for at least one year during the preceding five years, as on the last date of the month prior to the bid submission date.

Financially, the bidder’s minimum average annual turnover in the preceding 3 years should be Rs 415 crore. And should have a working capital (current assets minus current liabilities) of Rs 46 crore.
