NHPC Invites Bids for 7.6 MW Rooftop Solar Projects Under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana
National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) has issued a tender for the development of rooftop solar power projects totalling a cumulative capacity of 7684 kW on buildings of NHPC at various locations under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) has recently floated a tender for the development of rooftop solar power projects on its buildings across India under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
The projects have to be executed in Jammu and Kashmir (Zone 1) with a total capacity of 4,102 kW, Himachal Pradesh (Zone 2) with a total capacity of 1,710 kW, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand (Zone 3) with a total capacity of 774 kW, and Sikkim, West Bengal and Manipur (Zone 4) with a total capacity of 1,098 kW.
The bid document fee for Zone 1 is INR 5000 and for the other three zones, it is INR 1500 each. The bidders also need to submit Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of INR 40 lakh for Zone 1, INR 8.05 lakh for Zone 2, INR 17.78 lakh for Zone 3, and INR 11.41 lakh for Zone 4.
Bid submission closes on October 29, 2024. Bids will be opened on November 6, 2024. The projects need to be completed within nine months from the date of notification of award.
As for the technical eligibility, the bidder should have designed, supplied, erected and commissioned Solar Photo Voltaic (SPV) based grid-connected power plant(s) of cumulative installed capacity of 400 kWp or higher, out of which at least one plant should have been of 40 kWp or more.
The bidder can also be a developer of SPV-based grid-connected power plant(s) of cumulative installed capacity of 400 kWp or higher, out of which at least one plant should have been of 40kWp or more.
Alternatively, the bidder should have executed in the last ten years either as a developer or as an EPC Contractor in the process industry or in infrastructure development of a single work having a minimum value of INR 4 crore. They should also have executed at least one Electrical Sub-station of 11 kV or above voltage level, consisting of equipment such as 11 kV or above voltage level circuit breakers and Power transformer, either as developer or as EPC Contractor which should be commissioned up to the last date of submission of bid.
As for financial eligibility, the turnover of the bidder needs to be a minimum of INR 8.12 crore for Zone 1, INR 3.38 crore for Zone 2, INR 1.53 crore for Zone 3 and INR 2.17 crore for Zone 4. The bidder should also have a positive net worth in at least two financial years out of the last three financial years.
The tender document also specified the working capital requirements for the bidder which is INR 4.51 crore for Zone 1, INR 1.88 crore for Zone 2, INR 0.85 crore for Zone 3 and INR 1.21 crore for Zone 4.
