NHPC Invites Bids for 1,200 MW ISTS-Connected Wind Power Projects in Tranche-2

The submission deadline for bids is set for February 28, with bid opening scheduled on March 4.

NHPC Limited has opened the bidding process for developers to supply 1,200 MW of power from inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power projects under Tranche-2.

The submission deadline for bids is set for February 28, with bid opening scheduled on March 4. The awarded capacity of 1,200 MW will be injected at ISTS substations across six states: Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka.

Bidders are required to pay INR 1.26 million/MW as an earnest money deposit (EMD), and the processing fees are structured based on the project's scale. For projects with a capacity of 50 MW, the processing fee is INR 300,000 plus 18 percent GST. The fee increases for larger capacities, ranging from INR 500,000 for up to 100 MW, to INR 3 million plus 18 percent GST for capacities exceeding 500 MW.

Bidders have the flexibility to propose different tariffs for projects in various states but must quote a single tariff for all projects within each state, applicable throughout the 25-year duration.

Responsibility for the wind power project, including the dedicated transmission network up to the delivery point, lies with the successful bidder. They must obtain all required approvals, permits, and clearances for the project and the associated transmission network.

Developers with commissioned or under-construction wind power projects with untied capacity for interconnection in specified Indian states are eligible to participate. This includes those with existing capacity or spare untied capacity available for augmenting proposed wind power under this tender.

Bidders must meet a net worth requirement equal to or greater than the calculated value, set at the rate of INR 13 million/MW.
