NGSL Enters Energy Storage Segment with 400 MWh BESS EPC Win from NTPC
NTPC GE Services Ltd. (NGSL) has secured a 400 MWh BESS EPC contract from NTPC, marking its strategic entry into the energy storage sector.

NTPC GE Services Ltd. (NGSL), a strategic JV of NTPC and GE, has announced that the company has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract from NTPC for a 400 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project.
The contract marks NGSL’s formal entry into the fast-growing energy storage segment, positioning the company to play a more active role in supporting grid stability and renewable energy integration.
Commenting on the development, Alok Tripathi, Whole Time Director, NGSL, stated, “This landmark win marks our entry into the energy storage sector, opening new vistas for the company as we lead the charge in India’s energy transition. Proud of the team for making this visionary leap a reality!”
The agreement between NGSL and NTPC was signed recently, signalling the beginning of project execution. “A new era and a new responsibility begin. We are gearing up to complete the project with high standards of quality, timeliness and safety,” remarked Tripathi.
This milestone win is expected to open new growth avenues for NGSL as India accelerates its energy transition and scales up deployment of storage-backed renewable solutions. The company stated that it is gearing up to deliver the project with a strong focus on quality, timeliness, and safety.
