NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) has announced that the company has commissioned the second and third part capacity of 73.06 MW and 80.88 MW, respectively, of the Kalasar Solar Energy Project, Bikaner, Rajasthan. The first part capacity of 81.34 MW was commissioned earlier this week.

This forms part of the 650 MW solar component under the 500 MW REMCL RTC Project of NTPC Renewable Energy. With these, the solar project’s operational capacity has reached 235.28 MW.

In another development, ONGC NTPC Green’s step-down subsidiary Project Sixteen Renewable Power has operationalised the fourth part capacity of 50 MW solar capacity out of a cumulative 300 MW solar component, as part of a 200 MW RE Round the Clock (RTC) project capacity located in Rajasthan.

With these additions, NTPC Green Energy Group’s total installed capacity has increased to 11,262.51 MW.

In September 2026, NTPC REL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy, has declared the addition of 72.45 MW of wind capacity in Gujarat in September 2026 under the 500 MW REMCL RTC project of NTPC REL.

Separately, based on a certificate issued by the Gujarat Energy Development Agency on September 17, 2026, the third part capacity of 68.22 MW of NTPC REL's 200 MW Gujarat Solar PV Project at Dahod was declared commercially operational with effect from July 23, 2026.

By 2032, NTPC Group plans to have 60 GW of capacity through RE sources, constituting nearly 45 percent of its overall power generation capacity.
