Nextpower Arabia, a joint venture between US-based Nextpower and Saudi conglomerate Abunayyan Holding, has secured a contract to supply 2.25GW of solar tracking systems to Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for the Bisha Solar project in Saudi Arabia.

The project is being developed by an ACWA Power-led consortium in Asir Province and was awarded under Wave 6 of the National Renewable Energy Programme (NREP) by the Saudi Power Procurement Company, overseen by the Ministry of Energy.

The contract marks Nextpower Arabia’s first major order since becoming fully operational and supports Saudi Arabia’s push to scale up utility-scale solar capacity and cut carbon emissions.

Under the agreement, Nextpower Arabia will handle local manufacturing, supply chain management, and delivery operations, supporting construction and long-term operation of the plant.

L&T (Renewable International) General Manager Bharathi Kumar said the company was confident in Nextpower Arabia’s ability to deliver advanced solar tracking solutions to ensure high performance and low-cost clean power from the Bisha plant.

Abunayyan Holding CEO Turki Al-Amrisaid said local production of tracking systems would strengthen Saudi Arabia’s solar supply chain while supporting the kingdom’s industrial localisation strategy.

In July 2025, Saudi Arabia’s Principal Buyer signed SR31 billion (USD 8.3bn) worth of power purchase agreements with an ACWA Power-led consortium to develop seven solar and wind projects totalling 15GW.
