Taiwan based NexPower Technology Corporation together with its Japanese distributor, Marubun Corporation, have recently started in the west of Japan, Kansai, the first solar project using industry leading 160W thin film modules in the world. This project plans to build up a few solar systems with a total power of 200kw within the area of Kansai. According to the schedule, the whole project will be constructed and grid-connected in the first half of 2012. NexPower and Marubun have signed a distribution agreement for the Japanese market in 2010. NexPower 160W thin film panels with the highest performance among the world now are also complied with Japanese JPEC standard, and going to be exhibited in Japan’s upcoming PV Expo this year. NexPower CEO, Arthur Chou, states “NexPower thin film modules have a rare positive power tolerance from -0 to +3%, which is also a major reason for NexPower’s recent success in the Japanese market.“
