Network Planning Group under PM Gati Shakti Program Sanctions Renewable Projects

The MNRE project assessed by the NPG was for the Inter-State Transmission System for Renewable Energy Projects in Ladakh.

The Network Planning Group (NPG) under the PM Gati Shakti initiative has one project pertinent to renewable energy.

All engineering and linkage infrastructure projects, necessitates an investment of about INR 500 crore, through the help of NPG.

The projects were concluded in the meeting of the NPG. The number of projects designated to different ministeries enlisting such as one by MNRE, three by the Ministry of Railways and two by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

The MNRE project assessed by the NPG was for the Inter-State Transmission System for Renewable Energy Projects in Ladakh. The government cited that this project is an significant and project which is a huge move towards nation’s aim of attaining 500 GW capacity from non–fossil fuels by 2030.

The alignment of the project of NPG under PM Gati Shakti at its 45th session has explained about the six infrastructural projects and mentioned clearly that working of these projects in synchronization with the fundamentals of PM Gati Shakti.

NPG comprises of chiefs of the network planning segment of corresponding infrastructure ministries and it will help the Empowered Group of Secretaries (EGOS), which is directed by the cabinet secretary.
